Smokey-Sweet Barbecue Sauce
Z3-Sauces & Dressings,Z2-Sauces & Dressings
This Smokey-Sweet Barbecue Sauce is a great addition to your recipe collection. This can be made spicier with the addition of cayenne. I kept mine mild and spiced it up for my husband.
Huevos Rancheros Zola Style (Mexican eggs with a spicy tomato sauce)
If you like Mexican comfort food this is your go-to. Perfect for brunch or even for dinner. This version is spicy enough to make most noses run but can be adjusted for milder palates.
Sloppy Joes
You could call this the “adult version” of Sloppy Joes. It does have some ZIP to it. Don’t be intimidated by the length of the ingredients list. The recipe is worth it. And you probably have most of these ingredients in your pantry.
Super Easy Kung Pao Meatballs
This meal comes together in a MINUTE – or at least it feels like it. I made this for Saturday night movie night and it was a hit!
Hot Wing Dip
ZSpecialties,ZS-Dieter Favorites,Z3-Poultry,ZS-Holiday,Z3-Appetizers & Snacks
Most folks think of chicken wings as being a guy thing and even a sport fan thing but anyone can love this dip! I served it as a breakfast buffet item and it was hands down the dish that got the most comments and compliments. I think it was because it was so unexpected. The comments came from men and women alike but I must admit the guys were the ones who went gaga over this.
Vindaloo
ZS-Dieter Favorites,Z2-Entrees,ZSpecialties,Z2-Poultry
This is probably the spiciest offering for Plan Z. So if you like Indian food and you like it spicy, this is your ticket.
Corn Dip
I came up with this recipe at the end of summer. I took what I call an “inspiration” recipe and Zolified it so we can enjoy it. It’s really tasty.
Shrimp Fra Diavolo
This is a traditional Italian Dish that is known for spice. It’s also usually served over pasta so you’ll see that this one can be served as a stew in a bowl or over sautéed zucchini noodles.
Jalapeno Popper Crisps
Z3-Appetizers & Snacks,ZS-5 Ingredients or Less,ZSpecialties
These easy to make Jalapeno poppers are Z3 friendly and only take 15 minutes!
Chicken Chili – Caribbean-Style
A spicy no bean chili that packs a flavor punch! Add spinach for extra vitamins and color.
Sichuan Stir-Fry Chicken
This is very much like kung pao chicken you’d find on an Asian menu. There is some zip to it but you can decide how spicy you’d like yours. Don’t be intimidated by the ingredient list. This comes together fast.
Spicy Spinach Chicken Casserole Bowl
This is a cheesy and bubbly casserole that will keep you warm for dinner during the cold winter weeknights!
Turkey or Chicken Meatloaf
For a change of pace you can try a unique meatloaf. This one comes with an optional extra sauce in case you want to really ramp up the flavor.

Chipotle Pork Tenderloin
You'll give your mouth a sweet and spicy kick with this Southwestern inspired dish.
Seared Sea Scallops with a Spicy Dipping Sauce
Try this dish for a taste of the sea with a little kick. Pairs excellently with my Asian Veggie Stir Fry
Spicy Paprika Salmon
If you like paprika and some zing, you’ll like this dish. Salmon has such a robust (almost fatty) flavor you get a big bang for your fish buck with this one. You could also make this dish with other fish pieces like Halibut, Sea Bass, Haddock or… even thinner pieces like Sole but you won’t cook it nearly as long.
Spicy Dipping Sauce
ZS-Dieter Favorites,Z2-Sauces & Dressings,ZSpecialties
Serve with my seared sea scallops or with any fish or sea food. I think grilled shrimp would be great! Or even cooked, cold shrimp would pair nicely with this on a hot day. You can serve the sauce hot or cold.
Roasted Sea Bass with a Thai Red Curry Sauce
Sea bass tastes like a buttery heaven. There is no butter on this fish but you'll swear there is as you eat it. This red curry sauce is NOT spicy. It's just flavorful.
Pan Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Jalapenos
ZSpecialties,Z2-Sides,ZS-5 Ingredients or Less,Z2-Vegetarian,ZS-Zola to Go
I used to HATE Brussels sprouts. I couldn't even stand the smell of them cooking. I love them now, as long as they are caramelized which brings out the sweetness. This version is spicy!
Roasted Chicken with Jalapeno-Tomatillo Sauce and Roasted Onions
My husband declared he wanted Mexican one night. That’s a challenge with Z2. This is not the prettiest dish I have ever made but it was quite tasty and satisfied his craving for Mexican.
Spicy Chicken Enchilada Stew
Z2-Entrees,ZS-Zola to Go,Z2-Soup,ZSpecialties,Z2-Poultry,ZS-Dieter Favorites
This dish doesn’t have to cook long to bring you a hearty Mexican stew. It comes together in a flash. This also heats up brilliantly in the microwave at work.
Sweet and Spicy Mashed Yams
I went a bit nuts the other day and made up this version of a spicy mashed yam. Whenever I get a hankering for mashed potatoes I go get yams.
Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers
Z3-Appetizers & Snacks,ZSpecialties,Z3-Pork,ZS-Holiday
Depending on the size of your peppers you might have filling left over. You can keep this for later. It will make a lovely stuffing for an omelet.
Spicy Sweet Real Tomato Soup
This recipe was contributed by Plan Z dieter Debbie. Garnish with fresh basil for a unique and special treat.
Zippy Roasted Peppers
The time it takes to roast the peppers will bring out the heat in the cracked pepper so be prepared for a spicy hot dish. Just a very few cracked pepper bits will do.
Sweet and Spicy Pecans
ZSpecialties,Z3-Appetizers & Snacks,ZS-Holiday
Instead of serving pecan pie, how about serving these as an appetizer/snack offering? They are amazingly addictive.
Versatile Asian Sauce
Z2-Sauces & Dressings,ZS-Zola to Go,ZSpecialties
I have made this sauce and used it several ways. I use it as a marinade and grilling sauce. I also use it in stir fry. It is designed to be SPICY.
Spicy Asian Dressing
This is a very spicy dressing. I served it over grilled chicken tenders on a big salad with raw veggies. Really flavorful.

Roasted Chicken with Spicy-HOT Chipotle Adobo Sauce
You can serve sauce in a ramekin and dip your chicken. You can drizzle it over the top or you can pour it over. This is a firey-hot sauce so be careful not to scorch your taste buds.
Hot Green Wings
Z2-Entrees,Z2-Appetizers & Snacks,Z2-Poultry
Here is the first of two wing dishes I served this Super Bowl. Judging by the empty plates and happy faces I think they went down very well.

This steak salad can be made extra spicy or just with a kick. This version has a kick but I give you instruction on how to crank up the heat if you like your food spicy.
